Format and technique:
Children worked with chosen technique (painting, drawing, collage, print) and with suitable medium (tempera, aquarell, ink, coal, pencil, charcoal) on paper A3 (297x420mm)


Classes which participated on the project spent a day at Prague Castle, where they received gifts from organizators and partners. We divided them with colored hats to enjoy the preparde program and worksjops with famous architects (Ing. arch. Zdeněk Lukeš, Ing. arch. Tadeáš Goryczka, Ing. arch. Bohumil Beránek, MgA. Viktorie Součková, Ing. arch. Barbora Markechová, Ing. Šárka Janoušková, Ing. Dominika Hejduková, M. Arch Vera Hampl, Dott. Ssa Michaela Žáčková Rossi, Ing. arch. Marek Štěpán and Ing. arch. Miloš Roháček). All af the children also could explore Plečnik’s South gardens of the Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, they gone through the architectonic exhibition in St. George monastery with the theme Heritage of my homeland.


3rd edition of the internation art-architektonics project Playful architect, aimed at pupils of elementary schools (8-10 years old), happening under the auspicion of Mrs. Ivana Zemanová and with cooperation wtih regions, cities, institutions and organizations, which understood reach and imporatence of this project.
The goal of the project Playful architect is to bring closer the children to the architecture. Education of our children in this field through their actual artistic work adds to their growth, esthetics and logic. Thanks to this projects children learns about the architects profession and their work, history of architecture and related to that also adds to their education in hostory and geographic fields, tehy started to perceive more of their surroundings and culture. They will understand the importance of quality architecture for the everyday life and in historical connections, they discover architectonics and cultural richness and understand how important it is to keep our heritage and take care of it properly.
Every year participating children first meet up on lecture or tour with architecture theme and they together do their art work. This year we pickes as a theme Heritage of my region and my homeland. Because of participation of 26 foreign schools from 18 states, our children learn a lot of about czech and foreign surrondings. Chosen children artworks were exposed and standalone exhibition in Rosenberg palace at Prague castle under the name of Playful heritage of my homeland.


Importance of the project:

Among others the benefit of the project Playful architect is to help childrne on complex ways to develop broad spectrum of abilities (art, work with materials – even with less common, new techniques, new utensils, depth perception), manual skills, supports creativity. Also it adds to knowledge children gained in other school subjects (like history, geography, math, geometry, art etc.) with personal experience and natural playfulnes of children.

Also it liven up the school studies in adequate way. We are making an emphasis on correct working habits and procedures and development of handwork which is a bit lost in nowadays technical world and our children are having trouble to write and draw by hand. We can’t even mention coordiantion eye-hand and fine motorics.

Project allows children to work together regardless to their different abilities, preconditions and specifics needs. It allows cooperative and individual aproach to educative work. Interdiciplinary projects can show some and help to grow to some extraordinary talents kids might have and whih could be hidden in usual school enviroment.

Children can work individually or in groups, they meet new and interesting people, artists and figures from architecture and politcs whom they couldn’t normally meet.
