The Children’s House at Prague Castle

The concept of the new Children’s House at Prague Castle continues the long tradition of the House of Czechoslovak Children, which used to function in the premises of the Castle in the past, offering children creative entertainment and education. Starting in 2021, the intention is to provide state-of-the-art facilities and offer quality educational programs for the development of children of diverse ages, directly influencing and expanding their perception of cultural and historical heritage. The program of the Children’s House includes long- and short-term projects in the form of exhibitions, lectures, discussions, art workshops, concerts, theater performances and much more. All events will be organized in cooperation with pedagogical staff and professional external experts, under the auspices of the Prague Castle Administration.

The goal of the Children’s House is to become a year-round national cultural center for all children. Some events will have an international character, attended by foreign guests, entire classrooms from invited schools and our Playful Ambassadors from around the world. We want children to experience the culture and color of other countries, continents and cultural institutions. The Children’s House is a place where children can freely develop their imagination, their creative potential and playfully expand their awareness and knowledge, not only of historical heritage, but also to better understand the world today.
