Information about the school:

The name of our school is Kostelní, because it stands near a church, though a gothic one. Baroque architecture in Tachov is represented by Franciscan Monastery, which we examined thoroughly. The interior looked like a picture of heaven, because there were chubby gilded angels flying everywhere around us, and the Statue of St. John of Nepomuk with a streaming look in his face looked as if it was alive. With quite respect we admired the astonishing organ. The singer Anna K. sang for us: „Zarůstá pastvou jen pro oko… Proč jsi tak vzdálené baroko?“

About the school:

Our school is located in Mariánské Lázně, in the quarter called Úšovice. With its 57 years, it is not new anymore. We have 21 classes with about 500 pupils, which is quite a lot. In addition to school buildings (a big and a small one), we have also a school canteen, a school club, workshops, a large gym, and behind it a super playground with a racetrack, long jump pit and a playground with artificial surface. During the lessons, we discover a lot of exciting things and we also go for various trips and excursions. The reason for our entering the competition about baroque was that we were planning to visit the Teplá Monastery. There, walking throughout the baroque wing, we admired a beautiful library, tried the old baroque printing press in the monastery and the second group painted on huge canvas. We will be happy to welcome you to our “cool” school and show you what we can do.

Our school is located in the small town of Bělá nad Radbuzou, at the foot of deep woods of the Bohemian Forest. Our school has recently celebrated its 60th anniversary. Currently, it is a complete nine-year school, which includes 151 pupils and 60 children in kindergarten, not only from Bělá nad Radbuzou but also from the neighbouring municipalities. The name “Cool School” indicates that we are trying to create a peaceful and relaxing environment for learning, sports and afterschool activities that pupils can attend at our school. Near the school there is an educational trail, which can be used for class preparation and for making projects.

We cordially invite you to the town of Bělá nad Radbuzou – a town in the heart of the Bohemian Forest.
